Aroostook County Handicap League – Official Rulebook
📅 League Overview
- Season Dates: July 1 – August 31, 2025
- Entry Fee: $25
- $10 for admin/setup
- $15 goes to prizes (cash for Pro & AM; trophies/discs for Beginners)
- Play Location: Any UDisc-listed course in Aroostook County
- Home Course: Shady Ridge Disc Golf ($3/day play for members)
🔄 Format & Divisions
- Flex League: Play anytime, anywhere in the county
- Divisions:
- Pro: Experienced players, cash payouts
- AM: Intermediate players, cash payouts
- Beginner: New players, non-cash prizes (swag/trophies)
🏋️ Score Submission & Tracking
- Rounds must be:
- Played on a UDisc-listed course in Aroostook County
- Logged using the UDisc app
- Submitted via our form: Submit Round Form
- Players can submit as many rounds as they want each week
- Weekly submission deadline: Thursday at 11:59 PM
- Weekly standings posted: Fridays
Score Form Fields Include:
- Name
- Date Played
- Course Played
- Score
- Par
- UDisc Scorecard Link (optional but preferred)
- Conditions (weather, wind, etc.)
- Notes (cardmates, observations, discs used)
Why Conditions Matter:
- Conditions like wind, rain, snow, or mud provide critical context
- When calculating handicaps and rating trends, this data helps:
- Spot performance anomalies
- Validate scoring swings
- Improve fairness in week-to-week comparisons
- Adding these notes builds a fair, data-rich profile for each player
📊 Handicap & Rating System
- Handicap Formula: (Score – Par) x 0.8 (can be adjusted based on league data)
- Adjusted scores are used to compare players across divisions and courses
- Leaderboard tracks:
- Raw Score Average
- Adjusted (Handicap) Score
- Most Improved (change in avg score)
- Total Rounds Played
🏆 Awards
- Pro Division: Cash payouts to Top 3
- AM Division: Cash payouts to Top 3
- Beginner Division: Trophies, discs, and league swag for:
- Most Improved
- Best Attitude
- Most Rounds Logged
⚖️ Rules of Play
- All rounds must follow official PDGA Rules of Play

- No gimmies, foot faults, or mulligans
- Rounds should be played with integrity and honesty
- Scoring must be accurate
- Preferably, rounds should be played with at least one witness
💬 Sportsmanship & Conduct
- Respect the course, other players, and the game
- Beginners should be welcomed and encouraged
- Cheating or score manipulation will result in disqualification
- Keep it fun. Keep it fair. Grow the sport.
